April is one of my favorite months, as is March. I think I am just in love with the fact that spring is here. I can see considerable changes in myself, honestly, as the weather turns warmer. There is more energy (more work with it), and more determination to do things.
Spring is the onset of a new cycle of seasons, setting the natural rhythm towards its completion. This is the season where everything starts once again. Everything feels much lighter, just like the rays of the sun. Spring erupts in ourselves a hope, just like a sapling erupts out of the soil from a seed sown.
I believe that when we are in tune with the seasons, we feel much more in alignment.
Spring is the season of sowing new seeds, growth, freshness, lightness, renewal, rebirth, and new beginnings. It is also the season of fertility. Spring is the season of life itself, when everything begins anew.
Spring has always been my favorite season. I wish it would last all year round, but then we wouldn’t appreciate the beauty of it if it lasted all the time. I think it is just human nature, but we tend not to appreciate the beauty of certain things while we have them. We understand the true value of them when they are gone.
Every season is beautiful in its own way, bringing about necessary changes in the environment so that there can be spring again.
Every season plays a part in bringing you towards your best self. It is time we honor our bodies in every single season, and allow ourselves to get in tune with the natural cycles of nature.
I was about to give the title of this newsletter, “Survival Kit for Spring”, but then I changed it to “Thriving Kit for Spring”. This is the season when birds sing, and flowers bloom. So, when nature thrives, so should we strive to.
Here is a thriving kit for you:
1. Bloom where you are!
You don’t need to move mountains to change your life, or to make it more enjoyable.
Even mundane moments matter when you pay attention to them. Start noticing the beauty you have around you. The little things matter more than you think.
Notice the way a sunbeam falls in your room, or the way a bird chirps on your balcony, or the way your tea smells and tastes. It is these little things that matter more than you think!
2. Romanticize your life!
You don’t make huge changes. As I said, just try adding a little joy in your everyday life. If it means using that flowery crockery set that you reserved for your guests or using that expensive perfume that you’ve kept aside for special occasions, do that! Your life is a special occasion in itself!
Add in some rose petals in your bathing water, or put on some music that makes you feel like the main character!
Just do anything that makes you feel alive!
3. Tend to your inner garden!
Ask yourself, what parts of me require more love? Where in my life can I work with a little softness? Am I overwatering any parts of myself? Am I under-watering any parts of myself? Do I need to plant more seeds? Do I need to remove some plants that are not working? What do I want to feel more of this season?
Tend to yourself, because when you work on yourself, you’ll start thriving in every possible way!
Pro tip: Write everything down instead of holding it all in your mind. It will allow you to invite lightness in as well.
4. Take up Space!
A blooming tree is not afraid of take up space of its own. It is not afraid to spread its branches and give birth to new leaves and flowers. So, take up space. Do not be afraid to speak your mind or set the necessary boundaries when required.
5. Stay open and flexible!
I heard this beautiful analogy from a veteran businessman in one of the sessions I attended in my college: “A tree, when it has flowers and fruits, is at one of the best times of its life. However, it is during this time that it is most vulnerable too. A tree that remains rigid during the time it is most abundant would instantly lose its flowers and fruits when a strong wind blows. However, a tree which remains flexible will dance with the wind, and retain its flowers and fruits!”
That’s it for today’s thriving kit! More tips coming to you in the next week!
You are not a seed anymore. It is spring, and it is time for you to bloom. Accept that — boldly, unapologetically, and lovingly! Choose easy joy! Choose to live in love with everything around you!
Thriving doesn’t mean being more — it simply means being more of you.
Thank you so much for reading! I wish you easy joy and beauty for this spring season!
P.S.: I will send you the April Bucket List tomorrow as it is already late!!!! Thank you for your patience, guys!!
